Of all the things I had to learn to become a certified make up artist lashes was by far one of the trickiest. I never realized the small, but important steps one must take to get that perfect lash application. Even now after having had applied lashes to myself AND clients over a thousand times I still run into issues from time to time. This is the first ever "tips and tricks" post on my page. I hope you all enjoy it and find it useful. I will be doing these regularly. Any feedback and/or suggestions are welcome!
STEP 1
Size the lash to your lash line and trim if necessary. Always remember to trim from the outside edge of the lash. These are typically the longer lashes on the band.
STEP 2
Take a lash curler and curl your natural lashes. Be sure to apply mascara right after to hold the curl
STEP 3
Add a thin strip of lash glue to lash. Allow the glue to dry for about 20-30 seconds. This gives it time to get nice and tacky. A common mistake made when applying falsies is not letting the glue dry enough. Then you get a lash that's slip sliding all across your lid
STEP 4
Start the application by placing the lash on the middle of the lash line/eye. Once that is secure adjust/fasten the inner/outer corners.
WAHLAH! You should be living that lash life. Once you get more comfortable with your falsies I would go in with my fingers ( index and thumb ) and squeeze my natural lashes and falsie lash together. I hope this was a good step by step explanation on how to apply false lashes.. I will be doing a contouring step by step next. Love ya'll and good luck beauties! XOXO

1) Skincare is key. The better your skin looks the better the makeup will look . Always keep in mind that makeup artists are not magicians . They cannot remove skin texture, dry skin, Etc. Moisturizer Is your best friend . You should be moisturizing twice a day ( exceptions would be people with excessively oily skin ). A non-comedogenic moisturizer is best as they don’t contain any oils and/or oily ingredients, therefore preventing excess shine or makeup separation .
2) On the topic of skincare always stay hydrated . Water water and lots more water . Staying hydrated helps keep the skin supple and healthier. Your body and skin both will thank you . Staying hydrated also keeps your lips from chapping or drying over . Skincare for the lips is also important and should be used daily. Lip balm with SPF is my recommendation .
3) Face grooming . The brows should be clean of any excess hair. Getting a simple “ clean up” should do the trick . Face waxing is also important to the integrity of the makeup . The upper lip and chin are usually the waxing areas. Grooming helps the application to be much cleaner resulting in a better makeup look .
4) Communicate . You always want to communicate your desires/preferences to your artist. Having sample photos to send your artist is always a great idea. You may want a “ natural “ makeup look and that can look differently to both client and artist . That is why having sample photos to send is so important . It ensures there is no confusion on the look you desire and helps your artist to better execute what you want.
5) Lastly, trust your artist. After all, you hired them for a reason . As a client you may have one idea about your makeup and your artist may veto that idea . An artist gains nothing from deterring you from any certain look. Usually the issue is you may have picked a look that isn’t suited for your features . Maybe the look isn’t suited for the occasion. Whatever the reason, trust their knowledge . They always want the best look for you
